Phase Transition in Fluid Hydrogen at Room Temperature

نویسندگان

چکیده

Rotational and vibration-rotational Raman spectra of fluid hydrogen (H2) at room temperature were investigated through spectroscopy under pressure. All the rotational lines showed rapid pressure changes in shifts around 0.56 GPa. The peak analyses revealed that ortho-para conversion H2 was generated beyond GPa temperature. Supposedly, anomalies obtained corresponded to a phase transition phase, inducing significant change ratio equilibrium composition ortho- para-H2.

Electrical control of the ferromagnetic phase transition in cobalt at room temperature.

Electrical control of magnetic properties is crucial for device applications in the field of spintronics. Although the magnetic coercivity or anisotropy has been successfully controlled electrically in metals as well as in semiconductors, the electrical control of Curie temperature has been realized only in semiconductors at low temperature. Here, we demonstrate the room-temperature electrical ...

Hydrogen reduction of molybdenum oxide at room temperature

The color changes in chemo- and photochromic MoO3 used in sensors and in organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells can be traced back to intercalated hydrogen atoms stemming either from gaseous hydrogen dissociated at catalytic surfaces or from photocatalytically split water. In applications, the reversibility of the process is of utmost importance, and deterioration of the layer functionality due to si...

Room-temperature structures of solid hydrogen at high pressures.

By employing first-principles metadynamics simulations, we explore the 300 K structures of solid hydrogen over the pressure range 150-300 GPa. At 200 GPa, we find the ambient-pressure disordered hexagonal close-packed (hcp) phase transited into an insulating partially ordered hcp phase (po-hcp), a mixture of ordered graphene-like H(2) layers and the other layers of weakly coupled, disordered H(...

Stable room-temperature ferromagnetic phase at the FeRh(100) surface.

Interfaces and low dimensionality are sources of strong modifications of electronic, structural, and magnetic properties of materials. FeRh alloys are an excellent example because of the first-order phase transition taking place at ~400 K from an antiferromagnetic phase at room temperature to a high temperature ferromagnetic one. It is accompanied by a resistance change and volume expansion of ...

Hydrogen trapping at dislocation cores at room temperature in deformed Pd

Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) measurements of hydrogen segregation at dislocations in heavily deformed single crystal Pd have been performed at very low solute concentration (PdH0.0016) at equilibrium with respect to hydrogen gas at 295 K. The net (the without-hydrogen measurement subtracted from with-hydrogen measurement) absolute differential macroscopic scattering cross section has b...
